Environmental Geology is about problem solving. More strictly defined, Environmental Geology is the application of geoscience to solve issues relating to human interactions with the environment.
Environmental geology is a multidisciplinary field that draws upon related fields such as geophysics, geochemistry, hydrochemistry, biogeochemistry, hydrogeology, land use planning, GIS/Cartography and the law. There is a strong link between environmental biology (ecology) and environmental geology, as their objectives are very similar.
As environmental geology has evolved, so has Oakridge Environmental, being at the forefront of developing excess soil management strategies and utilizing geophysics to locate buried wells, septic systems and karst hazards. More traditionally, we have supported responsible aggregate resource development and successfully completed surface water impact assessments for support of Permits to Take Water and Environmental Compliance Approvals.
