In this example map, vegetation communities have been determined according to the Ecological Land Classifivation System for Southern Ontario.
Communities were mapped in the field and boundaries determined using differential GPS to provide accurate plotting.
In some cases, sensitive communities or habitats are protected by establishing vegetation buffers or setbacks from disturbances.
